Website Evaluations

1.  Name of Web Site:  Coaching Speech
2.  Web Site Address:  www.coachingspeech.com
3.  Copyright date and/or last update:  2010
4.  Author/organization credentials:  Jennifer Zinn
5.  Web site design and ease of navigation:  The design of this page is very basic.  The color scheme constists of three colors.  The navigation of this page is very easy to get around.  There are tabs on the left hand side of each page that allow you to jump to the different resources that you might need in order to teach/coach speech.
6.  Your response and recommendation for use:  It has lesson plans for speech teachers, but also has resources for those who are speech coaches.

1.  Name of Web Site:  National Speech & Debate Association-National Forensic League
2.  Web Site Address:  http://www.speechanddebate.org/
3.  Copyright date and/or last update:  2014
4.  Author/organization credentials:  National Speech & Debate Association
5.  Web site design and ease of navigation: The design of this page is very appealing.  There are several colors in the color scheme and pictures of people to help the viewer identify with the page.  The navigation is very quick and accecible.  The drop down boxes on the words when there is a mouse-over helps categorize more topics in a broad way.
6.  Your response and recommendation for use:  This website helps identify the forensics at the high school and junior high level.  It gives resources for the coaches and students to use to find pieces to compete with.  There are also places for people/companies to donate money.

1.  Name of Web Site:  Texas Speech Communication Association
2.  Web Site Address:  http://www.etsca.com/
3.  Copyright date and/or last update: 2014
4.  Author/organization credentials:  Texas Speech Communication Association
5.  Web site design and ease of navigation:  The design for this website is basic as far as color scheme goes, but has pictures and places of interest for the viewer of the page to identify with.  The navigation of this page is very easy to use, however, the broad topics do not have a mouse-over to see more in-depth topics, which makes it a little less ideal to use than the above webpage.
6.  Your response and recommendation for use:  This website is for coaches at the high school level, and some parts could also benefit coaches at the college level of competition.  It is a big database to help the different coaches all over the state of Texas to stay in contact with each other, and there are also places where jobs are listed.

1. Name of Web Site:  Speech Geek
2. Web Site Address:  http://www.speechgeek.com/
3. Copyright date and/or last update: 2014
4. Author/organization credentials:  Speech Geek
5. Web site design and ease of navigation:  The design of this page is also very simple, but easy to identify with because of the pictures.  I like how there is a slideshow of pictures at the top of the page.  The navigation is subpar, some things are hard to find because all of the links are general.
6. Your response and recommendation for use:  This website can be used to help high school students and coaches find pieces for their students to compete with.  It is run by several different companies, so there are numerous amounts of scripts to choose from.

1. Name of Web Site:  University Interscholastic League
2. Web Site Address:  http://www.uiltexas.org/speech
3. Copyright date and/or last update:  2014
4. Author/organization credentials:  University Interscholastic League
5. Web site design and ease of navigation:  The design for this webpage is darker than most as far as color schemes go, but somehow fits and works well with the logo.  The navigation is also very easy and usable do to the many links.  There are lots of resources and information pages that can be used, even for different areas of competition for UIL.
6. Your response and recommendation for use:  This website can be used for high school students and coaches to look at the description of different areas of competition and the rules to be followed.
